Country Sisters - Linda (fiddle)

Linda comes from a musical family. When she was 4, she saw her father's friend play fiddle and she was begging her parents for letting her play this instrument. The parents were able to fulfil her wish three years later, when Linda's arm was long enough to hold 1/8 fiddle. In the third year at music school Linda's father asked her teacher, Mrs Janovska, for teaching Linda to play country music. She said it was out of the question because Linda was too small to learn such complicated compositions. So Linda's dad bought her first sheet of music for playing country and she started learning on her own. In the middle of the fourth year at music school Linda changed her school and began studying at Jan Neruda's Music School, where she was accepted just because of her country music playing skills. Mrs Kotmelova took care of her and she is the one thanks to whom Linda greatly developed her talent. At the age of 11 Linda together with her father and his friends founded the Linda Band, a band playing mostly bluegrass music. The instruments in the band featured fiddle, guitar, banjo, mandolin and bass guitar. After a couple of months the band was joined by Linda's older sister Lenka, who played bass guitar. Within several years the band was renamed to Czexas and changed its style to country music. The band fell apart shotly after due to a lack of time of all the band members. Linda joined a newly formed group VMTN (Vase Mama To Necekala = Your Mom Didn't Expect That) and played bluesrock along with another great musicians. Six months later Linda got a sudden call from the founder of the Country Sisters and was invited for auditions, in which she was eventually accepted. The other band didn't approve her frequent shows with the Country Sisters, because she was blocking their concert dates and Linda was forced to make a decision to play in one band only. Fortunately she chose the Country Sisters. To satisfy her taste for another music styles, Linda is allowed to play with the psychobilly band Green Monster when she's not on tour with the Country Sisters.
